Community support for the neighboring victims of the Camp Fire continues to be an inspiration. One of the upcoming efforts will take the form of a benefit concert featuring local musicians and performers at the Town Hall Theatre on Wednesday December 5th.
Plumas Arts Director, Roxanne Valladao tells us, "Cameron Scully came to us right after the fire with the idea of the benefit concert. Plumas Arts has lent our support providing the use of the Town Hall Theatre to host to the dozens of performers he has collected to take the stage to raise funds for our friends, relations and neighbors who have suffered in the devastating wake of the Camp Fire." With his first effort to produce such an impressive and massive undertaking Scully has rallied an impressive collection of artists from students to seasoned performers in a program that will begin at 5pm and continue through until 9:30 or 10pm. Performances include: An opening teaser from the West End Theatre's production of The Full Monty, which will run the first two weekends of January. Lance Barker and Company, Piano solo by Sylvia Wood, Guitar duet by Averi McIntyre & Ryan Carpenter, Tristan Mc Michael, Quincy High School band with Ms Markee, Charlie Forcino & Company, Vocals by Cameron Scully with Chris Gibson on piano, Ragtime piano by John Probst, Keely Nesbit & Friends, and Lumbercat. An invited Open Mic Session will close the evening's festivities. Bring your best intentions and some spare cash to make generous admission and prize drawing donations to support the this valiant effort and a most worthwhile cause, which truly embraces the spirit of the season. All the proceeds for the evening will be donated to the Paradise Sheriff's Department.
