Planned Giving: Ways to Give
By naming Plumas Arts as a beneficiary of your will, trust, retirement account, or other plans, you will be making a impactful gift that will last forever.
Will or Trust: You can leave a legacy gift by simply indicating Plumas Arts in your will or living trust. You can consult with your attorney about adding an amendment to your current documents to leave Plumas Arts a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, a specific asset or property, or the remainder of your estate after gifts to your family or other beneficiaries have been made.
Sample language: If you wish to include Plumas Arts in your estate plan, here is suggested language you can review with your attorney: “I give and bequeath to the Plumas County Arts Commission (Tax ID #: 94-2814290) the sum of___________ (indicate dollar amount, percentage of your estate, or description of specific asset or property) for its general purposes.”
IRA, other retirement plan or life insurance policy: This is a simple and meaningful way to create a legacy gift without changing your will or trust. You simply need to designate Plumas Arts as a beneficiary on all or part of your account or policy by completing a beneficiary designation form with the institution that administers your plan or policy. If you’re 70 1/2 or older, you can also join fellow supporters who make tax- free gifts from their IRAs, as qualified charitable distributions (QCD). You may even be able to save money while helping advance Plumas Arts’s mission by donating all or a portion of your required minimum distribution, tax-free.
Stocks, bonds, bank accounts, and donor advised funds: You can easily ensure our work continues in the future by requesting a beneficiary designation form from the institution holding your assets and indicating Plumas Arts as a beneficiary on all or part of your assets.
