Christopher Rouse Islas Hernandez (he/him) joined the Plumas Arts team as Executive Director in May of 2024.
Originally from Santa Monica California, Christopher grew up in Quincy where his love of the arts blossomed. Christopher later planted roots in Los Angeles attending Santa Monica college before pursuing the fast paced life of interior design, event coordination and management. After two decades, Christopher made a COVID move back to Plumas County where he has been happy to get back to his rural roots in Indian Valley. Christopher has a love for all things art, travel and the outdoors. His travels have led him to all but one continent (Antarctica) which he hopes to visit soon. Traveling has given him a deep appreciation of cultural diversity and the importance the arts play in the health of our communities; but most importantly the connection to our own wellbeing. Christopher spends his free time outside playing in the dirt, hiking or just “chilling”. Christopher hopes to spread art into every corner of our beautiful county to whomever would like to consume it, as a passionate believer in the Helen Keller quote “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much”. He hopes to see the Plumas art scene flourish even more in our near future. Contact Christopher: [email protected] |

In 2021, she made the full time move to Plumas County and opened Wild Pines, an artisanal boutique curated to celebrate local makers and brands from around the country. She finds joy in lifting up artists and encouraging them to share their creativity with the world. Liz is also a practicing artist and her work can ben found in Plumas Arts, at Wild Pines and she was part of the two women team that painted the Plumas County Love mural on Main Street in Quincy. In her free time, Liz can be found on a bike or hiking trail, often with a small watercolor set and her dog Cheddar in tow or in town enjoying a community event. Contact Liz: [email protected] |
Suzanne de Martimprey joined us in March 2022 as the Gallery Coordinator for Plumas Arts.
She spent a year living and studying in Los Angeles, on scholarship, pursuing a degree in classical opera at BIOLA University, before moving to Quincy. Upon arriving in Quincy in 2016, she began working for a degree in Outdoor Recreation through Feather River College. In the middle of that pursuit, left Quincy to teach English Second Language and Physical Ed. in Jamaica, Belize, & Costa Rica. A year later she returned to finish her degree, and develop a deep and broad love for this community. At the beginning of the pandemic, she had to wave goodbye to the opportunity to run Outdoor Education Programs for international schools in SouthEast Asia, and has thoroughly enjoyed being rooted here and building community. She spends her free time painting, writing, and performing music, as well as expanding her love of the natural word and all of the ways to enjoy it both restfully and actively. Suzanne is looking forward to growing her connection to the art community here through Plumas Arts, to share and be receptive to the creative passions that thrive within this community.
