About the GalleryThe Plumas Arts Gallery, located at 525 Main Street in Quincy—directly across from the county courthouse—is the heart and home of Plumas Arts. Housed in the historic Capitol Saloon building (circa 1873), the space once operated as the longest-running bar in Plumas County before closing in 2008. Plumas Arts purchased the building at a foreclosure auction in September 2011. Through an inspired and collective community effort, this beloved landmark was renovated and returned to public use—ensuring it remains a vibrant cultural space for current and future generations. Today, the gallery proudly showcases the work of Plumas Arts’ talented local and regional member artists, representing a wide range of artistic mediums. The gallery also actively supports emerging and first-time exhibitors, offering mentorship and guidance throughout the exhibition process. Opening receptions, artist talks, and cultural gatherings are a core part of Plumas Arts’ ongoing programming. Exhibitions change regularly, making the gallery a dynamic and welcoming stop for both locals and visitors—be sure to check the current exhibition schedule when planning your visit.
