Plumas Arts Gallery
525 Main Street / POB 600 Quincy CA 95971 (530) 283-3402 Hours: Wednesday-Friday 11am to 5pm Saturdays- 10am to 4pm The Plumas Arts Gallery (sometimes known as the Capitol Arts Gallery) at 525 Main Street in Quincy, CA (right across the street from the county courthouse) is the home of Plumas Arts. This Capitol Saloon building (circa 1873) served as longest running bar in Plumas County until it closed it doors in 2008. Plumas Arts purchased the building at a foreclosure auction in September of 2011 and through an inspired community effort, this historic landmark has been renovated and returned to community use for current and future generations. The Plumas Arts Gallery proudly displays the work of Plumas Arts' many and talented local and regional member artists working in a diversity of mediums. Our gallery manager loves to support emerging artists with mentoring and guidance for first-time exhibitors. Opening receptions and other cultural gatherings are part of the ongoing programs of Plumas Arts. Shows change regularly so make the gallery a regular stop on your visits to Quincy. Check the schedule on the left to learn more. Plumas Arts also facilitates exhibitions at Patti's Thunder Cafe in Quincy. Info on the current show and the exhibition schedule can be found here. You can be a part of preserving history and creating a future for this community landmark when you become a member of Plumas Arts. Specific building needs include: replacing the front windows, continuing interior design work and an upstairs renovation. Donations are tax-deductible. |
