Native Northern Californian William "Bill" Peters' life was tied to the outdoors. From his youth in Happy Camp to his degree in Wildlife Management from Humboldt State University and career with the California Department of Fish and Game, Bill's love for wildlife and the outdoors was his overriding passion.

Bill's interest in birds and photography led him to sketching and painting birds in their natural environment. After retiring from his career as a Game Warden, Bill devoted much of his time to teaching the art of drawing, as well as animal and equine behavior, at Feather River College in Quincy, CA. He was a beloved instructor, inspiring a generation of local artists to pursue their dreams.

Bill's meticulously observed and detailed paintings were done in acrylic, oil, and watercolor. His work is available as limited edition prints and note cards at the Plumas Arts Gallery.

"I enjoy painting wildlife with the emphasis on individual animals. The focus of the painting is on the details of the animal in a way that the viewer feels they know it personally. I hope people will enjoy and appreciate wildlife through my paintings."
