Lisa LoBue, a native Californian, was raised in Sacramento and gifted with the travel bug from her mom. Traveling since childhood, she longed for a way to share her experiences with others without having to carry the weight of it all. On a trip through Europe a friend gave her a camera to document all that she encountered and after returning from this trip, she bought her first DSLR camera and there has been no leaving home without it.The phrase "take only photos and leave only footprints" is how she explores this world. All shots are natural light with minor touches in editing. Her artistic vision tends to focus on landscape and all that nature has to offer. But her art is not limited to color and black and white images alone. She has found a way to bring coloring into her photography. Lisa-shopped (as she refers to it) is her photos printed in black and white and then with the use of oil pastels, she infuses color into them. The end result gives each print a unique feeling of depth and dimension. But lisa hasn't stopped there. She has created a new way to display her art. Her latest edition what she calls photo blocks, is a solid block of red oak, dyed with a stain she created out of vingear and steel wool. Very eco friendly, and the wood is from scrape piles found around her dad's cabinet shop. She has sealed both side for you to have a hands on experience with the pieces. No longer does her work need to be displayed on walls, it can now be place on any flat surface, with both front and back being a work of art. Its truly a unique way of displaying she talents.
