For the months of May and June 2024, Patti’s Thunder Cafe is exhibiting a show by local artists
~Tina Thorman~
“Whimsical”
Paintings have a life of their own that derives from the painter's soul. ― Vincent van Gogh
Tina Thorman, also known as Trixie Hollyhox, is originally from the Sacramento area and has been a Plumas County resident since 2015. She has been creating murals since the summer of 2020 and acrylic paintings since she was very young. She specializes in fantasy and scenic art, using bright colors with whimsical touches. Tina is also a first grade teacher at Plumas Charter School in Quincy. She has thirty years of teaching experience, which she uses in the many paint sessions she teaches around the area. She enjoys painting stage sets for the West End Theatre and has created pieces for both the community productions and the Magic Beanstalk Players.
Tina enjoys hiking the surrounding wild and scenic areas, finding inspiration and references as she explores. She has always enjoyed fantasy fiction and admits that when she looks at a beautiful snowscape, or forested path, she imagines fantastical creatures or characters emerging from the scene before her. She loves to include unexpected charm in her work—something that makes the viewer smile, or some touch of warmth or comfort. Some of her art may have a dark side, too, but even those pieces include a hint of light or hope.
Patti's Thunder Cafe is located at 557 Lawrence St, Quincy, CA and can be reached at (530) 283-3300. Check their Facebook page for current hours: https://www.facebook.com/PattisThunderCafe/
