Plumas Arts is pleased to announce a gallery opening reception Friday September 6th from 5pm to 7pm at 525 Main Street in Quincy.
For the month of September, the Plumas Arts Gallery is featuring the work of:
Susan Henderson
My art thrives from the beauty on Earth. Using acrylics, resin, inks, and gold leaf, I strive to capture the divine light that illuminates our world. Each piece begins with a spiritual journey, as I let my heart lead me and follow a path of faith. This internal guidance helps me select subject matter that speaks to my soul.
Drawn by interplay of light, the unique perspectives of various layouts, and the changing seasons, I find endless inspiration in the life present within nature. There is no life without light, and this fundamental truth is what propels my creative process. My faith not only guides my choice of subjects, but also draws my heart inward, allowing it to connect deeply with each scene I create.
Before touching the canvas, I pray, inviting a sense of serenity and focus. As I pour out my spirit into the subject, my main objective is to make sure that the light within the piece reflects my inner essence, while the shadows enhance its depth. Texture plays a crucial role in my work, adding a tactile dimension that brings my vision to life. This unique approach ensures that each artwork is a reflection of my soul, merging light and shadow, spirit and substance.
Come by the Plumas Arts Gallery during regular hours to view the artwork. The gallery is open Wednesday through Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 10am-4pm.
