For the month of March the Plumas Arts Gallery is featuring the work of
Zac Cogle
Plumas Arts is pleased to announce a gallery opening reception Friday March 7th
from 5pm to 7pm at 525 Main Street in Quincy.
Spending their formative years in the Tri-Cities, Washington, Zac developed an early appreciation for the strange and surreal, influenced by the writings of local legend Chuck Palahniuk and the visionary works of Salvador Dalí, Max Ernst, and H.R. Giger. Their artistic journey began with graphite, a medium that honed their attention to detail and precision. Over the past decade, they have built a career in tattooing, eventually opening their own studio here in Quincy, Calico Tattoo Company.
Recently, Zac has expanded into acrylic painting, bringing the same dark, intricate, and dreamlike elements found in their previous works to the canvas. Their work explores the tension between beauty and the grotesque, the real and the imagined, it questions our history and our perception of reality inviting viewers into a world both unsettling and captivating.
