July & Aug 2022 Plumas Arts Gallery Exhibit

Dixie Fire Stories Project Exhibition

Picture
For the month of July and August, the Plumas Arts Gallery will feature an exhibition of the Dixie Fire Stories Project. The Dixie Fire Stories Project was started by Joanne Burgueño and Sara Gray to record and share the stories of Dixie Fire survivors.

Primarily a social media project, Joanne and Sara capture and present the voices of survivors from our communities in hopes to facilitate a cathartic experiences among county residents. The exhibition at the gallery features select images from the project and is partnered with excerpts from the survivor's story.

Plumas Arts hopes by sharing these images and stories, that we can come together and to grieve and continue to heal through art.

Plumas Arts together with The Dixie Fire Stories Project was recently selected for a California Arts Council Impact Project Grant to help expand the reach of the project through a website and book. The Dixie Fire Stories Project hopes to move the exhibition around the county and launch a book featuring survivor's stories by June 2023.

The Plumas Arts Gallery and office hours are Wednesday thru Friday 11 to 5 and Saturday 10 to 4.
