FEATURING
NATALIE HAGWOOD As a multi-style cellist and singer songwriter, Sacramento-native, Natalie Hagwood thrives when collaborating with others and expanding the boundaries of her traditionally-classical instrument. Born and raised in Quincy, CA, Natalie grew up singing harmonies with her dad and sisters in The Kepple Band while taking private cello lessons from Johnny McDonald at the age of 7. Collaborations with Celtic, Americana and jazz bands eventually brought her together with the female-fronted folk trio, Dear Darling, with whom she performed with for five years. While a member of Dear Darling, she honed her folk cello and vocal harmonizing skills while performing intimate house shows and once-in-a-lifetime opportunities such as the Cayamo Music Cruise through the Caribbean and NPR's Mountain Stage in Charleston, WV. She currently performs as a member of Solabel, a Sacramento-based ensemble of established jazz, folk, and Broadway talents whose messages of joy, hope and community crosses musical boundaries. She has released two of her original songs and continues to write her own music, collaborate with others in songwriting and recording projects, and teach a studio of private cello students in the Sacramento region. She can't wait to play for her Quincy family with Hattie Craven! |
