Block printing is a satisfying and versatile medium that has been used for centuries as a means of printmaking and textile design. Join Liz for a holiday card making workshop where participants will learn how to create a block print of their own! Students will learn how to transfer their holiday vision onto a carving block, carve their design, and then use it to create a series of holiday cards ready to be sent to loved ones near and far. The block can be taken home and used again and again.
Please bring ideas of what you might want to carve (images are great), a little patience, and your uniquely creative self. Class is best suited for those age 12+ as sharp carving tools will be used in the process. All materials are provided. |
