Plans for Mountain Harvest Festival Take Off

Microbreweries from all over the Western States are signing up and performers are being scheduled, as plans are fall into place for the Mountain Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 13th at the Plumas Sierra County Fairgrounds.

For some time considered one of the premier events of the Fall season, The Mountain Harvest was recently listed, along with Ada's Place and Pangaea Café in Quincy, on page 24 of the September/October VIA Magazine as a featured destination get away and to take in Fall foliage.

Plumas Arts coordinates this event as one of many large and small-scale community cultural celebrations. The auction and beer tasting aspects of the Mountain Harvest Festival also provide primary funding for their nonprofit arts organization. Plumas Arts provides art education programs in our schools and support for local artists. In addition this active and vital community agency coordinates the county's cultural events calendar, manages a gallery featuring work by regional artists, provides world class performing artists to local stages and manages the Town Hall Theatre.

Hot Air Balloon Rally

The event begins just past dawn at the Quincy Airport when the crisp autumn morning skies host a colorful pageant of hot air balloons. Last year Plumas Arts was able to get four hot air balloons. This year we already have five committed.

Sponsors are being solicited to help host these magnificent creations. Individuals, business or groups can sponsor a hot air balloon. For $300 donors will be provided with a 45-minute balloon ride for two persons as well as being listed as sponsors in event promotions. Balloon rides for sponsors will begin at just after sunrise on Saturday, October 13th. The amount of sponsorship is also a tax-deductible donation and annual membership to Plumas Arts.

There are a limited number of opportunities to sponsor a balloon, so you are encouraged to contact Plumas Arts now to see where the wind may blow you on a fine Fall morning a few weeks from now.
