First off everyone was a winner at Taste of Plumas-- especially all of us that turned up to taste! The 6th annual event broke records for attendance and numbers of restaurants and culinary establishments that participated.

As far as the ballots for favorite went people clearly had a hard time choosing between so many wonderful tastes. There was no restaurant that did not get a number of votes for their efforts.

Here is how the votes tallied up:

Favorite Breads was American Valley Baking Srombolini and 100% local whole wheat Sourdough. Southern Accents' Muffaletta Sandwich was also a hit.

The Chalet View's Shrimp Bisque won for Favorite Soup and Pairing categories. Nakoma's Smoked Salmon and Brie Wonton was the favorite Appetizer. Sterling Sage's Pomegranate Martini was also a big crowd pleaser.

Mi Casita's generous selection of Shrimp ala Daibla, Cheviche and Chile Relleños captured the most votes for Favorite Entreé. Smile Dog Catering's Smoked Maple Citrus Glazed Pork Lion with braised cabbage and Feather River Culinary Arts Program tied for second in the Entreé Category.

The Lemon Tart offered by Longboards Bar & Grill was the Favorite Dessert with the Alley Cats Pots de Creme not far behind.

Over all choice for Best Presentation was Carol's Cafe & Catering's artfully produced Chicken Osso Buco over vegetable hash in a polenta bowl. As the biggest overall vote getter Carol's Cafe also took the Best of Show Award.
