A resident of Plumas County for more than thirty years, Lou Etta has been involved in art since high school. She studied art courses in the Redding, CA area, whereupon graduation, she was selected to design and draw game boards for special education classes for the Fall River School District.

Her love of design and composition let to further studies and a forty-year profession as a floral designer for both family businesses and corporations.

Although mostly self-taught in painting, Lou Etta has developed her artisttic talent taking courses at colleges and professional workshops. She prefers watercolors but has a fondness for pencil, ink, oils and acrylic. Lou Etta has studied under published author/watercolor artist Joe Garcia, William (Bill) Peters, Adele Earnshaw, SueEllen Ross, and Debbie Groesser of Chester CA and Robert Lawry of Quincy CA.

Lou Etta has won several awards, including Best of Show at the Plumas County Fair for watercolor art. Her work has been viewed and displayed at many public art venues around the Western United States.

Keeping with her design background, Lou Etta also loves quilting and designs quilts of both contemporary and traditional styles. She also designs one of a kind woven textiles. Her work has a strong following.
